In 1978, the Momiji Health Care Society was founded by a group of dedicated volunteers to serve the needs of Japanese-Canadian seniors. In 1990, with the generous assistance of our many donors, we were able to realize our dream — our own centre. In 1992, we welcomed the first tenants to the Momiji Centre. In celebration of our 20th anniversary in 1998, we dedicated a beautiful Japanese garden to Momiji. In 2009, we had the honour of hosting Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan on their tour of Canada.
Today, Momiji offers assisted living and a wide range of community programs to seniors and people of all ages and cultural backgrounds across the greater Toronto area. We have built strong relationships with our many partners in the circle of care and are recognized among community service organizations and hospitals for our efficient delivery of high-quality services.
